Simple Sentences

A Simple Sentence has one subject and one verb, although the subject and the verb may be compound

Example

“Peru is” the “third-largest” country in South America.

“John and Marion” “have been studying and working” in Tokyo for seven years

There are certain structures that can cause confusion in finding the subject and the verb of a sentence. The structures taken up in this unit are prepositional phrases, appositives and participal phrases
